Auto Repair in Put-in-Bay, OH

Put-in-Bay, OH

The small village of Put-in-Bay, OH, is located on South Bass Island within Ottawa County, about six miles out in Lake Erie off the Ohio shoreline. Fewer than 150 people live full time in Put-in-Bay, within a land area of less than one square mile.

The name “Put-in-Bay” initially referred only to the bay itself, because there was no actual village before Put-in-Bay Township was established around 1830. Tourism has been the village’s primary industry over the years, mainly between April and October. Visitors can enjoy many historic sites, including Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial that commemorates the bay’s significant role in the War of 1812. South Bass Island maintains a small airport and helipad, though the most common forms of transportation to and from the island are ferries and private boats.
